10 activities not to be missed in Jianshui
- Sleeping in an old hotel. Not only does the city boast a number of ancient areas, but in recent years the local government assisted in the restoration of 10 hotels in old houses, making Jianshui an ideal place to immerse yourself in the way of life of the past…with all the amenities.
- Eat at the Manxinglou restaurant, and if possible in a reserved room upstairs. It is the most central restaurant, the most famous, the most beautiful and has one of the best cuisines in the city.
- Watch the sunset from the Chaoyang Gate. Now converted into the center of the city, with the big lake in front of it and the traveling streets behind, it provides a very special feeling.
- Getting lost in the crowds in the narrow streets beyond the gate. With few tourist spots, but streets and stores full of charm, it is a walk that will reconcile the traveler with the city.
- Visit Tuanshan village. 15 km from Jianshui, completely preserved and closed to traffic, it is one of the best experiences in Jianshui.
- Go to the Zhu family garden for a nice and quiet time. No rushed visits. You must go with a book, or with a good company to enjoy its charms.
- Visit the Confucius Temple. How great, immense with its large lake and its magnificent gates.
- Learn the secrets of the local pottery. There is a whole city reconstructed in the ancient style dedicated to exhibiting the best examples of this craft. No one who has time should miss it.
- Go to the scorpions street, taste them and eat the best barbecued ribs you can have in China. Let no one be fooled by the presence of the scorpions claim. Most local customers go for the barbecue, magnificent, especially the ribs, eggplant, shrimp.
- And see the Two Dragons Bridge. It can be combined with the visit to Tuanshan, as it is on the outskirts of the city, on the way to this village.
