Huang Chenglong.- A Grammar of the Puxi Variety of Qiang: This work is the first attempt to analyze in-depth the grammar of this variety, providing a description of how the system of the Puxi variety is grammaticallyorganized.

Jonathan Evans.- Origins of vowel pharyngealization in Hongyan Qiang
Hongyan, a variety of Northern Qiang (Tibeto-Burman, China) has four plain vowel monophthongs /i, u, !, a/. Vowels may be lengthened, rhotacized, or pharyngealized, resulting in fourteen short and ten long vowel phonemes. No other varieties of Qiang have been described with pharyngealization, although the other suprasegmental effects are common throughout Northern Qiang.

Wang Ming-ke.- From the Qiang Barbarians to the Qiang Nationality: The Making of a New Chinese Boundary We study how the mountain people living along the upper Min River Valley in northwestern Sichuan have gradually gained their Qiang ? ethnic identity in the last half century as the result of selecting and remodeling their own history.

Wang Ming-ke.- Heroic Ancestors and Brotherly Nationalities: Text and Context in Primordial History: Fieldwork among the Qiang minority in western China has led me to discover many indigenous "histories." While sharing the same narrative mode, they attributed the origins of closely bound families or villages in an area to the arrival and subsequent dispersion of brothers in the remote past.

Zevik, Emma.- First Look: The Qiang People of Sichuan: The first holy man in the Qiang people’s history, whose name was AbaMullah, came down from heaven and stopped to rest on the top of the snowy mountain.
